U.S. Open Golf Courses

A week or two ago I was thinking about the upcoming U.S. Open and realized that I had played a number of the courses that have hosted this prestigious major over the years. Just for fun, and because I love lists, I decided to figure out how many courses there are and how many I have played. Including the sites announced through 2019 there are 53 different courses where the U.S. Open has been or will be contested. Below is a complete list of all 53 courses. I haven’t had time to do much research on this list so there might be some nuances that I don’t understand. For example Baltusrol Golf Club is listed as the course in 1903 and 1915 with no Upper or Lower distinction. I’m guessing that this may have been an old course that is no longer in existence. I’ll have to do a little research on that and a few other details with the list when I have time. Note that the courses I have played and profiled on this site are in blue and can be clicked. Please comment below about which one of these is your favorite course to watch the U.S. Open played on or better yet, your favorite one to play!
