Top 100 Golf Quest E-Newsletter Vol. 15

Happy Masters week to everyone!

This week seems like as good a time as any to send out my latest update. I’m excited to watch the tournament and as usual I expect that its going to be a great one.

I am continuing to plug away at my Top 100 quest, although I have not played any new Top 100 courses since my visit to Shadow Creek last fall which means I’m still holding tight at 71 courses visited. I’m hoping to make my first Top 100 trip in late April but am still sorting out all the details. If all goes well in 2012 I will visit another 10-15 courses from the list and finish the year with 80-85 of the Top 100 courses visited.

I’ve got a lot of tentative plans for 2012, but nothing really set in stone just yet as its still a little early in the year. Hopefully things will go smoothly and as usual I will keep you updated whether you like it or not. Feel free to take a look at the Top 100 list sidebar on my site. The courses I have played are in blue with a little check mark and the ones in black are the courses I have not yet played. Please shoot me an email if you think you can help with one of the courses I have yet to play.

As for this website, I am hoping to be a little more active with my posts this year. My plan is to post something every Monday, so I will try my best to live up to that lofty goal. I’ve got a number of non Top 100 golf trips planned for this season so you can expect to see an increasing number of posts in the “Other Courses” section on the site. I also will be making more posts that are not necessarily specific to golf courses. Every time I make a post on the website I post the update on the Facebook page and Tweet it as well. If you are not already following me you can do so by going to the top of any page on this website and clicking the Twitter and/or Facebook buttons where it says “Stay in Touch”.

Since my last update the following courses have been added to the site:

Yeamans Hall Club / Hanahan, SC (1925)
Dormie Club / West End, NC (2010)
Bob O’Link Golf Club / Highland Park, IL (1916)
Mid Pines Inn and Golf Club / Southern Pines, NC (1921)

I also posted a fun little commentary on the history of Sandbagging in the Journal section. You can click here to read it.

Sorry there’s not much to report this time, but the winter season was pretty quiet this year. Hopefully when I send out my next update at the end of June that I’ll have more Top 100 progress to share.

As always, thank you all for your support and assistance in this endeavor and I hope everyone has a fantastic golf season in 2012!
