Troon Country Club

What to Expect: Troon Country Club is one of the earliest efforts of the Tom Weiskopf/Jay Morrish team that went on to design over two dozen of courses together, a few of which can be found in the deserts of Arizona. Located near several other great courses (Estancia, Whisper Rock, etc.), Troon embraces the desert terrain and features the natural bushes, boulders, and of course, cactus as they frame the holes. Water comes into play on the final three holes of the front nine and nowhere on the back nine. The course is walkable for most golfers although there is a fair amount of elevation changes throughout the course. Conditions are always a top priority at Troon CC so you are sure to enjoy the healthy turf as you go pin seeking! Signature Hole:  15th - 139 Yard Par 3   Individual Hole Analysis Best Par 3:  15th - 139 Yards - Short and pretty; always a good combo   Best Par 4:  9th - 411 Yards - Double dogleg to a peninsula green   Best Par 5:  3rd - 541 Yards - A wash runs through this three-shotter   Birdie Time:  8th - 507 Yard Par 5 - Par 5s around 500 yards always are a good recipe for birdies   Bogey Beware:  14th - 440 Yard Par 4 - Similar in strategy as the 8th at Pebble Beach, a semi-blind tee shot and heroic approach are the call on this hole   More >
