Well, the Fall is here and the 2011 golf season is winding down to an end. Its been a great year for the Top 100 Golf Odyssey with visits to 14 new Top 100 courses, a couple of return visits to some favorites and a whole bunch of local golf thrown in for good measure. The year started up early with the trip to Florida back in February so I’ve packed it in a little prematurely and am taking the Fall off from golf travel for the most part. As More >

Hello to Everyone! I hope you all are having a great summer. I usually try to post these “state of the quest" updates at the end of each quarter but I’m a little late this time. It's been a pretty busy year so far and I regret to report that I am way behind on my website. I’ve played 6 courses on the Top 100 list that I have not posted yet and will hopefully have up soon. There are also another half dozen courses not on the list that More >

Hello Friends and Fellow Golfers! Welcome to the latest update in my Golf Odyssey Newsletter. The first quarter of 2011 has been a little slow for my Top 100 Golf Odyssey as there are not very many locations represented on the list to travel to during the winter. I did manage to make a trip to southern Florida where I played Calusa Pines and Seminole Golf Club. My post about Calusa Pines went up today and Seminole will follow very soon. While in the area I also was able to More >

Happy Holidays Friends, Family and Golf Enthusiasts, This is my year end wrap up newsletter and I'm happy to report that 2010 has been a stellar year for the Top 100 Golf Odyssey. As it stands right now I have played 62 of the Top 100 courses, so I guess you could say I'm on the back stretch. Over the course of 2010 I played 18 more list courses as well as a half a dozen other architecturally or historically significant courses across the country - some for the first More >

Hello Family, Friends and Golf Partners! It has been a while since I sent a Top 100 update and its mostly because I've been so busy that I haven't had time. Since my last "newsletter" in January the Top 100 quest has been moving along at full speed. I'm currently up to 56 courses which means I have surpassed the halfway point. Last night just before midnight I returned from 3 days at the incredible Sand Hills Golf Club in Mullen, Nebrasaka which ended my 60 day golf marathon. During More >

Happy New Year Friends! Another successful year has ended for the Top 100 Golf Odyssey. In 2009 I played 17 more Top 100 courses which brings my grand total to 44. My goal was to reach 50 by the end of 2009, but I'm afraid I fell just a little bit short. That being said, I'm fairly satisfied with having played 44 courses in two and a half years time. My goal of completing the list in 5 years is still within sight but I will have to stay busy More >

Hello Friends, Family and Fellow Golfers, Its been a while since my last update in September. I wound up the year with 28 of the Top 100 courses completed. I finished the East Coast season with an incredible trip to New Jersey for Baltusrol's Lower Course and Somerset Hills which are 2 great Tillinghast designs. In November I went to Texas where the season is a bit longer and played my last Top 100 course of the year at the Dallas National Golf Club and had a great time. I More >

Hello to everyone! Hard to believe that summer is basically over. August was fairly mild in Richmond, and now it looks like Fall is starting to settle in. No complaints here. Its been a while since my last newsletter and I've had a fairly busy summer with my Top 100 Odyssey. I am now 15 months into the project I have completed 25 of the Top 100 courses. I was hoping to have 40 courses completed by the end of the year, but it realistically looks like I'm going to More >

Hello Friends, Welcome to the 4th installment of my golf odyssey newsletter. I hope the summer is treating everyone well and its not too hot where you are. I'm pleased to report that excellent progress is being made on my Top 100 project. Having started last year on June 8th I hit the one year anniversary of my quest about a month ago. On that date I stood at 18 courses completed. I fell just a little short of my goal to play 20 courses in my first year. I More >
